Artist Statement
Whilst studying in Chattanooga Tennessee i travelled extensively through out the United States, visiting Chicago, New York Atlanta, Miami and numerous other American cities, the work shown here reflects this experience.
I scratch American cityscapes onto discarded photos. i let some of the photographic imagery appear through the buildings. creating a depth and variation of tone and colour. in my work i want to capture the crudeness and overwhelming scale of an American city.
